Kim McNeill was admitted as a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island in 1993, after being previously called to the Ontario Bar and Nova Scotia Bar. Prior to founding Birt & McNeill with partner Nancy Birt in 1993, she was an Associate Lawyer at Simpson Wigle in Hamilton, Ontario and an Articling Clerk at Matheson & Murray in Charlottetown. Kim was also a sessional lecturer in Business Law at the UPEI School of Business for three years. In her current practice, she focuses on the areas of real estate, wills and estates, and adoption law. Kim is also a licensed adoption agent for PEI.

Kim is the mother of three sons and plays a large role in her family's academic and recreational activities. She is a past member of the Sherwood School Home & School Association and a former board member of Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Island.

Nancy Birt was admitted as a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island in 1989 and was an associate at Ross Hooley (currently Cox & Palmer) from 1989 to 1993, before founding Birt & McNeill with partner Kim M. McNeill. Nancy also served as a sessional lecturer in Business Law at the UPEI School of Business for more than six years. In her practice, her primary areas of focus include corporate and commercial law, real estate law, wills, and estates.

Nancy is the mother of three children and has always chosen to be a hands-on participant in her children's educational and recreational pursuits. While her children were in school, she was an active volunteer with programs at West Royalty Elementary and Colonel Gray Senior High School. She is an active community volunteer and has also been involved with both the Canada Winter Games and the National Gymnastics Championships.
